WATER Power Tools™ v1.0 for Microsoft Excel®

Resource MANAGEMENT Page

A7.0 Non-Typical User Conversions to Peak Day Demand and Standard ERC Units

ERC (Equivalent Residential Connection) units are a way for you to establish a standard unit of measurement for water production and usage throughout your system. Many times, however, your system will include users that do not fit into standard ERC definitionis. A7.0 is a tool for taking non-typical users and converting their water usage into equivalent ERC units. By entering the necessary data (shown by the orange cells) WATER Power Tools™ allows you to calculate both Peak Day Demand figures and ERC equivalents for your non-typical water users. Once the ERCs are determined you can then conduct detailed reviews of your system water usage. You will be able to compare different types of users. You will also be able to evaluate potential and proposed water users and their impact on your system. ERC measurements are valuable tools for managing your water system, and they are the foundation of WATER Power Tools™.
